Our History in Singapore
DPS stands for Dedicated Pharmaceutical Specialists.
We started as DPS Engineering (Singapore) in 2005, as a company of engineers and validation specialists working in biopharmaceutical plants. The team needed a fast and reliable way to train their own people. Nothing quite fit the bill, so we created courses from scratch and taught them from a training room on Battery Road with the city skyline behind the whiteboard.
The training worked so well that we partnered with the Workforce Development Agency (WDA) to deliver modules in biopharmaceutical manufacturing and validation, under Singapore’s SPUR retraining scheme.
Engineers and scientists from electronics, infocomms, chemicals and food manufacturing came through our professional conversion and re-skilling programmes and went to work in the pharma and biologics plants then rising across the island.
When teaching became the main business, “Engineering” became “Education”. The initials stayed, because the promise behind them hadn’t changed – we are dedicated to pharma.
Our courses are delivered by lecturers who have run projects on Singapore sites, and our graduates work at some of the world’s biggest companies including Pfizer, MSD, GSK, Novartis and Lonza.
Nearly twenty years on, the courses have moved from classroom to online, but the DNA remains the same. We still only teach courses in pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturing.
If it isn’t about making safe medicines, we don’t offer it.
